- Name: Melan-s1 cell line
- Organism: Mouse
- Tissue: Skin
- Morphology: Small, oval-fusiform
- Model: Immortalised non-cancerous cell lines
- Description: The melan-s1 melanocyte cell line was irreversibly differentiated from immortal murine melanoblasts (melb-s1, also available from CancerTools.org). The melb-s1 line is an immortal cell line derived from the skin of neonatal Ednrbs/Ednrbs C3H mice. The melan-s1 melanocytes are derived from melanoblasts isolated from endothelin receptor B mutant mice. These cells may be useful for pigment cell biology studies.
- Application: Melanocyte cell biology
