Product description: PEO6 is a patient-derived serous ovarian cancer cell line established from malignant ascites at a later post-relapse stage than PEO4. Derived from the same patient as PEO1 and PEO4, it provides a matched model for studying longer-term treatment-driven ovarian cancer evolution. PEO6 is suitable for research into acquired platinum resistance, PARP inhibitor resistance, HR restoration, drug response and resistance-associated tumour heterogeneity.

Additional notes: Genetic differences within the PEO1, PEO4 and PEO6 cell lines suggest that PEO4 and PEO6 are not direct descendants of PEO1, but have diverged from a common ancestral tumour population. PEO6 has been reported to be tumourigenic in immunologically deprived CBA mice and shows good growth in semi-solid medium, including agar. PEO6 is one of nine cell lines from the PE ovarian adenocarcinoma panel, which was derived from four patients at different stages of ovarian cancer, from various malignant sites and at various treatment stages. The wider panel has been used as a model system for research into mechanisms of oestrogen action in ovarian adenocarcinoma tumour cells and for studies of oestrogen agonist/antagonist efficacy and toxicity.
