  • Name: Anti-PTPN2 [RE5a]
  • Alternate name: Protein Tyrosine Phosphatase Non-Receptor Type 2 Monoclonal Antibody
  • Cancer: Blood cancer;Breast cancer
  • Cancers detailed: Breast cancer;T-acute lymphoblstic leukemia;Triple negative breast cancer
  • Research fields: Cancer;Cell signaling and signal transduction;Immunology;Neurobiology
  • Clone: RE5a
  • Tool sub type: Primary antibody
  • Class: Monoclonal
  • Molecular weight: 45 kDa
  • Reactivity: Human
  • Host: Mouse
  • Disease: Cancer
  • Application: WB, IHC
  • Description: This monoclonal antibody recognizes human PTPN2 at an epitope between AA 1-317, which includes the PTPN2 catalytic domain. This region is identical between the 45 kDa and 48 kDa variants, and RE5a can detect PTPN2 at both its nuclear and cytoplasmic locations.
  • Immunogen: recombinant human 45-kDa PTPN2
  • Isotype: IgG3 kappa
  • Recommended controls: PTPN2

Target Details

  • Target: PTPN2
  • Target alternate names: TC-PTP, PTPT, Protein Tyrosine Phosphatase Non-Receptor Type 2
  • Molecular weight: 45 kDa
  • Target background: PTPN2 encodes a protein tyrosine phosphatase which has influence on T cell recruitment and function. The 48 kDa variant and is found on the cytosoic side of the ER, and the 45 kDa variant is targeted to the nucleus and cytoplasm. Targets of PTPN2 include Src family kinases, JAK kinases, and (only for the 45 kDa protein) various STAT proteins. PTPN2 is a tumor suppressor gene afflilated with triple negative breast cancer. PTPN2 also plays a role in anti-tumor immunity and T cell activation.
