  • Cellular tissue localisation: Pituitary gland
  • Source: Produced in Pichia pastoris
  • Description: Human Growth Hormone (HGH) is a member of the somatotropin/prolactin family of hormones. HGH is produced from the pituitary gland and is required for normal human growth and development. HGH modifies a variety of physiological functions by stimulating the expression of insulin-like growth factor I, and increases calcium retention and bone mineralization. HGH increases muscle mass, promotes lipolysis, and reduces liver uptake of glucose.
