- Description: SVCT has been established from human breast epithelial cells being transfected with simian virus 40 (SV40) - a known oncogenic DNA virus. This cell line has a dome formation when confluent. This transformed epithelial cell line shows an abnormal karyotype and was not tumourigenic in athymic male nude mice. SVCT has been found to be positive for the expression of keratin 7, 8 and 18 but negative for keratin 19.
