- Name: Monoclonal antibody anti GSK-3 (GSK-5G)
- Research fields: Cell signaling and signal transduction
- Clone: 5G-2F
- Class: Monoclonal
- Conjugation: Unconjugated
- Reactivity: Drosophila, NOT E.coli
- Host: Mouse
- Application: Immunoblotting; Immunohistochemistry : under investigation; Immunoprecipitation : not tested
- Description: Antibody to GSK-3 family of kinases, implicated in various cellular processes and cancer development. The phosphorylated peptide used as immunogen derives from a region of the catalytic domain (between sub-domain VII and VIII) of the Drosophila GSK-3 /shaggy enzyme. Clone 5G-2F was selected to react on the phospho-peptide but not on the non phosphorylated peptide. This antibody will not react on GSK-3 or shaggy proteins expressed in E coli, but will react on the respective natural enzymes or those expressed in Sf9 cells. The observed preference for the phosphorylated form is about 50/1. The overall selection over other P-tyr proteins may be at least around 20/1.
- Immunogen: Phosphorylated synthetic peptide coupled to ovalbumin: (C) K203QLLHGEPNVS(P)YICSRY219
- Isotype: IgG1, K
- Additional notes: Avoid repeat freezing and thawing cycles. Does not contain any preservative.
