Product description:  The PEO1-CDDP Cell Line is an in-vitro model to understand the changes in EGF signalling after the onset of cisplatin resistance. Coupled with this change in drug sensitivity, this model also has a modified responsiveness to ligands of the erbB receptor family. This model will be helpful in studying the changes in cellular signalling after drug treatment, which are currently attracting a great deal of interest and this model will be of particular relevance when cytotoxic therapy is combined with signalling inhibitors.

Production details: The PE01CDDP cell line was established by in vitro exposure of the PE01 line to cisplatin commencing at 25 nmol/L cisplatin and increasing to 1 Amol/L over a period of 4 months. The resistant cell line thus obtained was then passaged in the absence of cisplatin for a further 4 months to ensure that the resistance remained stable. PEO1 CDDP is from the same patient as the PEO1, PEO4 and PEO6 cell lines (ECACC Catalogue numbers 10032308, 10032309 & 10032310).
