  • Name: Osteopontin null squamous cell carcinoma cell line
  • Cancer: Skin cancer
  • Research fields: Cancer
  • Organism: Mouse
  • Gender: Female
  • Tissue: Skin
  • Donor: Female OPN-null mouse subjected to two-stage skin carcinogenesis
  • Growth properties: Adherent
  • Crispr: No
  • Receptors of note: No
  • Description: Cells derived from a female mouse with cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) lacking osteopontin (OPN) gene. Cells contain p53 and H-ras mutations which are common characteristics of SCCs. These cells develop SCC in syngeneic wild-type and OPN-null mice. Cell line is great for studying host-derived OPN at the systemic and tumor microenvironmnet level in the context of extrinsic cancer cell progression in immune-competent mice
  • Production details: OPN-null and WT mice in 129S6/SvEv background were bred in-house. ONSC cells were derived from an SCC developed in a female OPN-null mouse subjected to two-stage skin carcinogenesis. Cells were maintained in high-glucose, low-calcium DMEM containing 10% fetal bovine serum.

Handling

  • Growth medium: DMEM with 10% fetal bovine serum
