  • Name: Anti-CHIKV [3E7b] mAb
  • Alternate name: Chikungunya virus; Chikungunya virus antibody
  • Research fields: Microbiology
  • Clone: 3E7b
  • Class: Monoclonal
  • Conjugation: Unconjugated
  • Reactivity: Virus
  • Host: Mouse
  • Application: ELISA ; IHC ; Fn ; WB
  • Description: Anti-CHIKV [3E7b] binds strongly to the native CHIKV surface. This monoclonal antibody is also capable of detecting infection of cells. Chikungunya virus (CHIKV) is an alphavirus known to cause severe polyarthritis and polyarthralgia. CHIKV is transmitted to humans by mosquito vectors, primarily Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus. 3E7b potently neutralises CHIKV replication. Additionally, Anti-CHIKV [3E7b] protected mice from CHIKV disease when administered prior to CHIKV infection.
  • Immunogen: Live chikungunya virus
  • Immunogen uniprot id: Q8JUX5
  • Isotype: IgM
  • Myeloma used: Sp2/0-Ag14
  • Recommended controls: Infected BHK cells

Target Details

  • Target: N218 epitope on E2 protein of CHIKV
  • Target background: Chikungunya virus (CHIKV) is an alphavirus which causes febrile illness with severe polyarthralgia, known to be transmitted to humans by mosquito vectors, primarily Aedes aegypti and A. albopictus. Symptoms include high fever, asthenia, chills, headache, diarrhoea, vomiting and rash. Since the re-emergence of CHIKV in La Reunion, epidemic outbreaks of CHIKV infection have been reported globally and CHIKV is now considered endemic in 34 countries across Europe, Australia, Asia and Africa.
