- Name: Melan-p53-1 cell line
- Organism: Mouse
- Tissue: Skin
- Morphology: Small, oval-fusiform
- Model: Immortalised non-cancerous cell lines
- Description: The melan-p53-1, -2 and -3 cell lines are immortal melanocyte cell lines derived from the skin of neonatal Tp53–/– C57BL/6J mice. The expression of Ink4a in these cells is supressed and Arf expression is diminished. These cells are visibly pigmented and display morphology typical of normal melanocytes and can be useful in studying the role of p53 in melanocytes.
- Application: Melanocyte cell biology
Applications
- Application: Melanocyte cell biology
Handling
- Growth medium: RPMI + FBS (10%) + TPA (200 nM) + cholera toxin (CT) (200 pM)
- Storage conditions: liquid N2
