This cell line consists of HepG2 cybrid cell lines negative for cellular mitochondrial DNA, fused with different platelet partners (platelets contain only mitochondrial DNA and no nuclear DNA). Each cybrid cell line has a combination of SNPs in mitochondrial DNA, relevant to a variety of diseases. Cybrid cell line panel has potential use for drug testing

Growth medium: DMEM high-glucose medium (glucose; 25?mM) supplemented with FBS (10 % v/v), L-glutamine (4?mM), sodium pyruvate (1?mM), and HEPES (1?mM)
Subculture routine: Cells are subcultured weekly (1:12) via trypsinisation.
Temperature: 37° C
Atmosphere: 5% CO2
