The anti estrogen receptor (RE) antibody ACD5 (also known as D5) is capable of precipitating labelled human cytosolic RE complexes from breast tumour, fibroid, myometrial and endometrial preparations, but does not react with nuclear RE from human endometrium or cytoplasmic RE from other species tested. The antibody does not react with progesterone receptor or androgen receptor from human breast tissue, sex steroid binding globulin (SHBG) from human plasma, or rat alpha fetoprotein.
