NCH93 is a patient-derived meningioma cell line established from the first relapse of a WHO grade III meningioma. Tumour tissue was obtained during surgical resection from a 64 year old male patient.

Growth properties:
Cells grow as adherent monolayer cultures under standard culture conditions at 37°C in a humidified incubator with 5% CO2. Medium is replaced twice per week.

Growth medium:
DMEM (high glucose) supplemented with 10% fetal calf serum (FCS), 1% GlutaMAX, and 1% penicillin/streptomycin.
Subculture routine:
Cells are passaged at sub-confluent densities using 0.05% Trypsin-EDTA. After enzymatic detachment, trypsin is neutralised with serum-containing medium and cells are reseeded into fresh culture vessels. Passage number should be recorded.
