| Product description: | The MCF7/S0.5 human breast cancer cell line has been established to grow at low serum to reduce the oestrogen supply via serum and to enable oestrogen receptor-mediated growth inhibition with anti-oestrogens like tamoxifen. These cells are also useful for studies investigating the effects of oestrogens if cultured with 10% newborn calf serum, instead of 1% foetal calf serum, which has very low oestrogenic activity. This line expresses both oestrogen and progesterone receptors. Tamoxifen, fulvestrant, letrozole, anastrozole, and exemestane resistant cell lines have been derived from MCF7/S0.5 and so this line can be utilized as a parental sensitive control line. |
