  • Name: Anti-GFAP PAb
  • Alternate name: GFAP
  • Research fields: Array
  • Tool sub type: Primary antibody
  • Class: Polyclonal
  • Conjugation: Unconjugated
  • Molecular weight: 51kDa, 432 residues
  • Reactivity: Human
  • Application: WB ; IP ; IHC
  • Description: This is a site sepcific polyclonal antibody, recognising a domain that is key to the assembly of GFAP. The site is contained within exon 9, and therefore allows the identification of GFAP splice variants (Buniatian GH et al). Glial fibrillary acidic protein-positive cells of the kidney are capable of raising a protective biochemical barrier similar to astrocytes: expression of metallothionein in podocytes (de Reus AJEM et al 2024).
  • Immunogen: peptide crosslinked to KLH
  • Isotype: IgG

Target Details

  • Target: glial fibrillary acidic protein GFAP
  • Target alternate names: GFAP
  • Molecular weight: 51kDa, 432 residues
  • Target background: GFAP is an intermediate filament that is expressed in astrocytes. Intermediate filaments are a distinct group of cytoskeletal molecules.
