PTPRC (CD45) is a transmembrane tyrosine phosphatase that is present on all leukocytes. PTPRC regulates the threshold of T cell antigen receptor (TCR) signaling through dephosphorylation of protein tyrosine kinases (e.g. Lck and Fyn). CD45RA is an isoform of the PTPRC (CD45) protein which is selectively expressed on B cells.
