To evaluate the effects of a predicted protein, mutant disrupted-in-schizophrenia 1 (DISC1), stable PC12 cell clones with inducible expression of mutant or full-length human DISC1 (hDISC1) have been generated. PC12 is a neuronal cell line derived from a pheochromocytoma of the rat brain. This technology includes an inducible Tet-off PC12 cell model with stable expression of full-length and truncated hDISC1, allowing for a regulated expression of hDISC1 in homogenous populations of cells.
