| Product description: | MB49 is a murine bladder cancer cell line derived from C57BL/ICRF-a(t) mouse bladder epithelium transformed by chemical carcinogen exposure in culture. Originally developed by Cancer Research UK researcher Leonard Franks, MB49 is a well-established model for bladder cancer research and can be used in both in vitro studies and syngeneic in vivo mouse models. The cell line exhibits clinically relevant tumourigenic and metastatic properties, recapitulates key sex differences observed in bladder cancer, and reportedly responds to immune checkpoint inhibitors and other investigational therapies, making it a valuable model for studying disease biology and evaluating novel treatment strategies. A luminescent derivative, MB49-luc (Cat. No. 161579), is also available for in vivo imaging applications. |
