| Product description: | Anti-RgpB (arginine-gingipain B) [18E6] is a mouse monoclonal antibody that recognises RgpB from Porphyromonas gingivalis. It is used to detect and study arginine-gingipain B, supporting research into gingipain biology, P. gingivalis pathogenicity and periodontal disease-associated microbial mechanisms. Clone 18E6 recognises a unique epitope within the immunoglobulin-like domain of RgpB. Reported applications include immunohistochemistry, immunoprecipitation and western blot. |
| Additional notes: | RgpB is a secreted gingipain protease from Porphyromonas gingivalis, an oral pathogen associated with periodontal disease. RgpB has also been reported in Alzheimer’s disease brain tissue, where gingipain detection has been investigated in relation to disease markers. |

| Target background: | The secreted protein RgbP is a member of the gingipain protease family and participate in the pathogenicity of Porphyromonas gingivalis, an oral pathogen that can induce periodontal disease. RgbP has also been detected in the brains of Alzheimer’s disease patients with levels correlating with disease markers. |
