| Product description: | LYPD3 (Ly6/PLAUR domain-containing protein 3) also known as C4.4A, is a structural homologue of the urokinase receptor, uPAR, which constitutes a well-established prognostic marker in various human cancers. It consists of 346 amino acids and is glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI)-anchored, and its extracellular domains are composed of two modules belonging to the Ly6/uPAR/ÄÂ?-neurotoxin (LU) protein domain family. LYPD3 is endogenously expressed in suprabasal cells of squamous epithelia and amnion membrane in human placenta. Currently, LYPD3 has no defined functions but inhibition of tumor cell migration with anti-LYPD3 antibody suggests its role in cell/cell, cell/matrix interaction and tumour invasion and metastasis. |

Immunofluorescence using cos-7 cells transfected or mock transfected with a plasmid containing the full length LYPD3 reading frame. One set of cells were fixed with 4% paraformaldehyde and stained with anti-LYPD3 [11F1] followed by anti-mouse FITC (upper panel). Another set of cells were fixed with 4% paraformaldehyde; permeabilised with 0.1% Triton X-100a nd stained with anti-LYPD3 [11F1] followed by the same FITC conjugated anti-mouse monoclonal.
