Anti-GFAP PAb

This is a site specific polyclonal antibody, recognising a domain that is key to the assembly of GFAP. The site is contained within exon 9, and therefore allows the identification of GFAP splice variants (Buniatian GH et al). Glial fibrillary acidic protein-positive cells of the kidney are capable of raising a protective biochemical barrier similar to astrocytes: expression of metallothionein in podocytes (de Reus AJEM et al 2024).
