Together we are beating cancer
Cancer Research UK
To date Cancer Research UK’s researcher community has:
A history of supporting cancer research
Since the founding body of Cancer Research UK – Imperial Cancer Research Fund – was established in the 20th century, the overarching objective to enhance understanding of cancer has prevailed. This has provided a platform to bring cancer discoveries from the laboratory to the forefront of oncology.
One of the key elements in this direction is the formation of CancerTools.org – a first of its kind cancer focussed, global non-profit research tools biorepository.
As part of Cancer Research UK, CancerTools.org shares the charity’s mission “to prevent, control and cure cancer through our ground-breaking research“. To that end, tools accessed through CancerTools.org pay for future cancer research, via a global revenue share to the inventing institute and to Cancer Research UK.
”We’re calling on research institutions and funders around the world to work with CancerTools.org to ensure that cutting edge technologies are shared effectively and efficiently. What’s more, proceeds from the distribution of these tools will be ploughed back into research, helping to further accelerate.
