  • Name: NC-m4 cell line
  • Research fields: Tissue-specific biology
  • Organism: Mouse
  • Gender: Unspecified
  • Tissue: Skin
  • Disease: Non-cancer
  • Morphology: Small, oval-fusiform
  • Growth properties: Adherent
  • Model: Immortalised non-cancerous cell lines
  • Crispr: No
  • Conditional: No
  • Description: The nc-m4 and -m6 cell lines are neural crest-like stem cells derived from Dock7m/Dock7m C57BL6/J mice. These lines retain pluripotency, can proliferate indefinitely, and can be differentiated into melanoblasts, melanocytes, pre-Schwann cells, sensory neurons and chondrocytes. These lines may be useful for developmental studies.
  • Application: Melanocyte cell biology
  • Biosafety level: BSL1

Applications

  • Application: Melanocyte cell biology

Handling

  • Growth medium: RPMI + Newborn Calf Serum (NCS) (10%) + TPA (2 nM)
  • Storage conditions: liquid N2
