Description: The melan-Usf1 cell line is an immortal melanocyte line derived from Usf-1 -/- mice. Upstream stimulating factor-1 (Usf-1) is involved in the regulation of ultraviolet-induced gene expression. This line may be useful for the study of the tanning response upon ultraviolet irradiation which has implications for the development of skin cancers.
